About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join their team in Bel Air, MD, for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves providing itinerant TVI and consultative services to students with visual impairments across K-12 campuses. The TVI will develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), deliver direct instruction in braille, screen readers, low vision aids, and compensatory skills. Collaboration with educators and support staff is essential to ensure appropriate accommodations and curriculum access. The position also requires coordination with school teams to manage caseload needs, including scheduling, progress updates, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Education, Visual Impairments, or Special Education
  • Active Maryland Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification
  • Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting providing direct and consultative services
  • Braille proficiency strongly preferred
