About The Position

Uncommon Schools is seeking dedicated teachers for its network of public charter schools, aiming to provide exceptional K-12 education in economically disadvantaged communities. The role focuses on implementing Uncommon's curriculum and ensuring student success, with a commitment to continuous improvement through collaboration and professional development. The position is open to both experienced and apprentice teachers for all grades and subjects for the 25-26 and 26-27 school years.

Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75 or higher by the time employment begins.
Appropriate MA educator’s license or passing required MTELs (Communications and Literacy, Subject Specific, and SEI Endorsement) within the first year of employment (for Commonwealth charter teachers).
SEI endorsement required for any teacher assigned to teach English learners, with one year to obtain if not already held.

Nice To Haves

A background in education is not required for new teachers, but strong candidates should show a demonstrated passion for working with K-12 students.
Prior experience working in schools and/or urban communities is preferred.
Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom (for experienced teachers).
Minimum of two years teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred (for experienced teachers).
Valid State Certification and Master’s degree are helpful but not required.
