About The Position

This position supports District teachers in lesson planning, curriculum development, and student assessment. The Instructional Coach will help teachers track and analyze student data to make adjustments to instruction, utilizing instructional strategies, best practices, and curricular materials to maximize student growth in learning outcomes. The role fosters a trusting, supportive culture that encourages educators to embrace continuous improvement and serves as a resource for all teachers.

Requirements

Level II or III NM License
Type of License--Elementary OR Secondary—must reflect the school site
Bachelors in Education
Two to five years of teaching experience
Demonstrated general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
Demonstrated knowledge of various routine tasks, duties and procedures and the ability to follow specific instructions with little or no previous experience.
Ability to exercise considerable and sound judgment to instruct students and manage their behavior.
Willingness to improve competency by periodically participating in professional growth and to remain current with the latest developments in the profession.
Ability to effectively interact with diverse groups.
Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents.
Must have excellent skills in oral and written communication.
Needs the ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education policies.
Able to work collaboratively to achieve the overall goals of the school and the District.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and private automobile.

Nice To Haves

Masters in Education.
Experience with data collection and analysis.
Familiar with school reform/design and working with diverse populations and needs.
Bilingual: English-Spanish.

Responsibilities

Supports District teachers in lesson planning, curriculum development and student assessment by conducting walk-throughs, modeling best practices, and co-teaching lessons when appropriate.
Serve as a resource for all teachers by fostering a trusting, supportive culture that encourages educators to embrace the need for continuous improvement.
Plans, delivers, and assesses professional development through PLCs, workshops, and job-embedded training according to the needs of the staff/school.
Cooperates in the development and implementation of the District program of instruction, including partnering with teachers in non-evaluative coaching cycles.
Cooperates with staff and support personnel in assessing and helping students with health, attitude, learning and behavioral problems.
Complies with the New Mexico Code of Ethics of the Education Profession and upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state and federal regulations.
Articulates and facilitates the implementation of the mission and core values of Santa Fe Public Schools.
Safeguards confidentiality of personally identifiable information.
Prepares and maintains accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, state directives, District policy and administrative regulations.
Shares responsibility for the supervision and care of District inventory, proper and safe use of facilities, equipment and supplies, and reports safety hazards promptly.
Maintains professional relationships and works collaboratively with other employees, community members, and all stakeholders.
Maintains professional competence through individual and staff training, in-service educational activities and self-selected professional growth activities.
Attends and/or conducts staff meetings and participates on committees within area of responsibility.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
