About The Position

This position is for a Full-Time Professorial CFS Track (tenure equivalent) in Teacher Education, focusing on Multicultural Education/Teaching Multilingual Learners. Requirements

• Doctoral degree with specialization in multicultural education, ESL/TESOL, or related field. The required degree must be completed by the start date.
• Successful K-12 public school classroom teaching experience
• Demonstrated potential for research productivity
• Demonstrated ability/interest to partner with local schools
• Knowledge of national trends in multicultural education and/or ESL/TESOL
• Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.

• Preference given to candidates with a minimum of three years of successful K-12 public school classroom teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses related to multicultural education and/or multilingual education at the undergraduate level, and related courses at the masters level
• Mentor undergraduate and masters students in research and teaching
• Advise masters and doctoral degree candidates
• Engage in high levels of research activity and publication
• Demonstrate a pattern of leadership at the department, school, and university levels
• Fulfill committee assignments and other citizenship activities inside the university, community, and profession
