About The Position

This is a full-time professorial position with tenure equivalent in Teacher Education, focusing on Literacy/Children's Literature. Requirements

Doctoral degree with specialization in literacy, children's literature, or a related field (must be completed by the start date).
Successful K-12 public school classroom teaching experience.
Demonstrated potential for research productivity.
Demonstrated ability/interest to partner with local schools.
Knowledge of national trends in literacy and children's literature.
Must reside in the State of Utah to be eligible for employment consideration.
Must support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrine of the affiliated church.

Preference given to candidates with a minimum of three years of K-12 public school classroom teaching experience.

Responsibilities

Teach courses related to elementary literacy and children's literature at the undergraduate level, and related courses at the master's level.
Mentor undergraduate and master's students in research and teaching.

Demonstrate a pattern of leadership at the department, school, and university levels.
