About The Position

This position is for a Teacher specializing in Band and Choir at the Middle School level, located at Holland Woods Middle School. The role requires a strong commitment to equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices and responsibilities. The teacher will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities, creating a positive learning environment, and fostering student achievement. Requirements

Valid Michigan Teaching certificate: JX or JQ required.
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree
Must be Highly Qualified in endorsement area.
Must meet certification and endorsement requirements for assignment.
Must meet all NCA and Michigan Department of Education requirements.
Be proficient in the use of technology.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to equity, social justice and inclusion in all practices and position responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a Secondary Band Director preferred.

Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.

Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments and provide appropriate feedback on work.
Observe all district protocols to manage a budget for the band program.
Assume other responsibilities as determined by their supervising administrator.
Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
