About The Position
The Teacher 1 provides instruction for the Adult Basic Education/General Education Development program at Lebanon Correctional Institution. The role involves assessing educational needs, developing lesson plans and individualized training, administering tests, evaluating inmates, and providing appropriate direction. The teacher is also responsible for maintaining discipline and security in the instructional area, attending meetings and in-service training, preparing records and reports, and maintaining instructional supplies and inventory. The position is permanent, full-time, and located at 3791 State Route 63, Lebanon, Ohio.
Requirements
- Possess a baccalaureate degree and an Adult Educator four-year permit, or be eligible to receive a four-year permit from the Ohio Department of Education.
- Applicants with a current Teacher Certificate appropriate for the grade level assigned must also have a baccalaureate degree or less.
Responsibilities
- Develop lesson plans to address student needs, including individualized training for assignments.
- Provide instruction for the Adult Basic Education/General Education Development program.
- Administer necessary tests.
- Evaluate inmates and provide necessary direction.
- Maintain discipline and/or security of the instructional area.
- Attend education meetings, unit staff meetings, and in-service training.
- Prepare required records and reports.
- Maintain inventory and order needed supplies and materials.
- Perform other education-related duties as requested by education administrators and other duties as required on assignment.
