About The Position

Brighton Jones is hiring a Tax Associate to support tax compliance and planning services for clients. The tax team primarily manages individual income tax, trust, and gift tax returns in a collaborative, supportive environment. This is an in-office, full-time, exempt position in Dallas, with flexibility within the company’s work-from-office culture.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Strong computer skills, including Windows, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new software systems.
Strong research skills and knowledge of tax-related areas, including an understanding of the Internal Revenue Code, regulations, and other tax pronouncements.
Ability to manage heavy workloads and projects, often on a time-sensitive basis.
Excellent oral communication skills and ability to interact with a close-knit team of professionals with varying levels of tax knowledge.
High motivation and ability to function well in a fast-paced environment with continued growth and development.

Nice To Haves

CPA eligibility.
Master’s degree in Taxation.
0–1 year of individual income tax return and compliance experience.

Responsibilities

Support the team with tax compliance matters and tax planning services for clients.
Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and fiduciaries.
Assist with tax projections and respond to federal and state agency notices and audit requests.
Collaborate with the financial advisory team on tax-planning functions.
Address client needs by phone and email and attend client meetings as needed.
Conduct technical tax research.
