About The Position

Human Resources Support Services (HRSS) provides departmental human resource services to numerous campus departments. HRSS strives to provide consistent, accurate, and timely services in support of our customers and their human resources needs. This role will contribute to operational excellence and enhance the student experience. The position is with a university that is internationally recognized for its academic programs and research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business administration, social sciences, public administration or a related field and two years of experience in human resources administration, staffing, recruiting, compensation, or related field.
  • Experience using a personal computer and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Motivation to work positively within a dynamic team environment in support of organizational objectives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and speak to and present information to staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong writing ability, analytical problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong time and project management skills alongside consultative ability desired.
  • Familiarity with Workday a plus.
  • Human Resource certification, including but not limited to SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, and SPHR.
  • Specialized talent acquisition and/or compensation training or credential.

Responsibilities

  • Stay abreast of talent acquisition and compensation trends, strategies, resources, and tools.
  • Execute strategies in a manner consistent with University policy and state and federal law.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract job applicants.
  • Review and assess current requisitions and staffing practices.
  • Partner with department and HR Coordinators to position customer departments as top employers.
  • Serve as talent acquisition subject matter expert, providing guidance and best practices to customers.
  • Develop tools and materials to aid departments in the selection process.
  • Use salary surveys and other compensation tools to benchmark staff compensation.
  • Present and summarize compensation review findings and best practices for stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement compensation strategies and recommendations based on data and expertise.
