About The Position

This is a rare founding People hire at a fast-growing, Y Combinator–backed B2B SaaS startup in Munich. You will build the hiring engine and People & Culture foundations from day one, working hand-in-hand with the founding team to attract, onboard, and retain exceptional talent. If you want to own something meaningful — not just fill requisitions — this role is for you.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience in high-growth environments (VC-backed startups or fast-paced tech companies).
  • Proven track record building or scaling recruiting processes and team culture across multiple functions (engineering, GTM, operations).
  • Experience shaping employer brand and candidate experience, ideally in European markets.
  • Resourceful, energetic, and relationship-driven — great at identifying and convincing early-stage candidates.
  • Fluent in both English and German (required).
  • Comfortable working on-site in Munich with the intensity and ownership mindset that comes with an early-stage environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in tech or AI domains to help evaluate technical candidates; experience using data-driven recruiting metrics to optimize hiring.

Responsibilities

  • Build the full recruiting function from scratch: processes, tooling, standards, and employer brand.
  • Own full-cycle recruiting across all functions — engineering, GTM, and operations — from sourcing through signed offer.
  • Design and execute proactive sourcing pipelines to consistently attract top-tier candidates.
  • Develop and run structured interview processes that evaluate both skills and culture fit.
  • Manage candidate communications and deliver a smooth, compelling hiring experience end to end.
  • Build and promote the employer brand to position the company as a destination employer in Europe.
  • Design and implement onboarding experiences so every new hire is set up to succeed from day one.
  • Define and drive culture initiatives including employee engagement, feedback loops, and team rituals.
