About The Position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full cycle recruiting for program and administrative positions across our California and Nevada locations, with a focus on high volume frontline and case management roles. This role partners closely with HR and program leadership to understand workforce needs, develop sourcing strategies, and ensure a positive, mission aligned candidate experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field is required.
  • One to three years of experience in full cycle recruiting, talent acquisition, or a related HR role; experience supporting multiple locations or high-volume hiring is strongly preferred.
  • Four years of additional recruiting experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience recruiting for human services, nonprofit, healthcare, or similar mission driven environments, or strong demonstrated commitment to nonprofit/mission focused work.
  • Working knowledge of recruiting best practices, basic employment law/EEO considerations, and use of ATS and common sourcing platforms.
  • Strong relationship building, communication, and consulting skills with hiring managers at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple requisitions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to engage effectively with candidates, staff, community partners, and leadership
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting in California and/or Nevada and familiarity with regional labor markets preferred.
  • Experience with nonprofit program roles such as shelter staff, case managers, outreach workers, and clinical/support positions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with HR Manager, HR Generalist, and program leaders to forecast staffing needs and prioritize requisitions across California and Nevada.
  • Manage full cycle recruiting: develop and post job announcements, screen applications, conduct initial interviews, coordinate hiring manager interviews, and support offer and pre hire processes.
  • Source candidates through job boards, social media, professional associations, colleges, workforce partners, and community organizations, with particular emphasis on frontline and case management pipelines.
  • Maintain and optimize use of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring accurate data on candidates, requisitions, and recruitment metrics (time to fill, source of hire, offer acceptance).
  • Management of the ATS templates, forms, and documents to ensure accurate information.
  • Coordinate and participate in job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach activities to promote the organization as an employer of choice.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to standardize job descriptions, interview guides, and selection tools that reflect organizational values and legal/EEO requirements.
  • Support hiring managers with interview training, selection decisions, and equitable hiring practices.
  • Assist with onboarding coordination to ensure smooth handoff from “offer accepted” to first day, including communication with HR, IT, and program teams.
  • Assist with New Employee Orientation and other employee training.
  • Track and report recruiting metrics and trends, and recommend improvements to processes, sourcing channels, and candidate experience.
