About The Position

Humber River Hospital is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to support full-cycle recruitment across the organization. In this role, you will help attract, engage, and hire exceptional talent who align with our values and commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in Human Resource Management
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in recruitment or combination of recruitment and Human Resources, preferably in a health care and/or unionized environment
  • Experience performing high volume recruitment in a fast paced environment and demonstrated knowledge of behavior-based interview techniques
  • Sound knowledge of current legislation, human resources practices with a good knowledge of labour/employee relations
  • Experience with an Applicant Tracking System (preferably iCIMS) and HRIS
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with a proven effective customer service focus
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills to manage varying demands and time constraints
  • Ability to probe for information, analyze results and present information in a timely manner
  • Excellent MS Office skills, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the daily recruitment activities, including review and approve requisitions, creating job postings, screening and shortlisting candidates, coordinate interviews, job offers, preparing employment contracts and coordinate new hire onboarding
  • Understanding the recruitment needs for defined portfolio and being proactive in identifying, designing and implementing recruitment initiatives
  • Consult with Hiring Managers on the development of competency-based behavioural interview guides and appropriate skills-testing
  • Participate in recruitment strategy development as well as research and recommend continuous quality improvements and innovative procedures for recruitment
  • Collaborate and consult with team members within People Services and all levels of management as required
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all recruitment & hiring matters for Hiring Managers within their portfolio and work in partnership to understand and provide consultative and value-added recruitment support in achieving their various hiring needs and challenges
  • Learn and understand the current and future needs of clients by participating in monthly Program Director/Manager update meetings and monthly operational meetings with Managers as needed
  • Guide and assist Hiring Managers on recruitment and sourcing alternatives appropriate for their business including the development of job postings in accordance with job descriptions and other selection criteria
  • Ensure that the recruitment & selection process aligns with hospital policy and best practices as well as the Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities and the evaluation of existing systems and processes
  • Attend job fairs, campus recruitment and other career events as needed
  • Develop job advertisements that engage the candidate pool and encourage a stream of qualified applicants
  • Maintain the iCIMS applicant tracking system including facilitating the learning for managers and directors who are required to use the system as end users
  • Partner with Strategic Human Resources Business Partner in workforce planning with client groups to proactively plan for service delivery changes, demographic analysis, staffing forecasting
  • Consult with and escalate matters to the Strategic Human Resources Business Partner or Director, Talent Acquisition as necessary
