About The Position

We’re looking for a strategic and driven Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team and play a key role in building a high-performing workforce across our organization. This is not a typical recruiting role. You will act as a true partner to the business (challenging hiring assumptions, validating workforce needs, and using data to drive better hiring decisions). You’ll work closely with leaders across multiple locations, supporting a wide range of roles including skilled trades, operations, and corporate functions. If you understand fast-paced industrial environments and thrive on balancing urgency with quality, this role is for you.

Requirements

  • 5+ years full-cycle recruitment experience (technical/industrial preferred)
  • Strong sourcing skills using LinkedIn Premium and other direct sourcing tools
  • Ability to build relationships and influence leaders
  • Experience analyzing data and using metrics to drive decisions
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Post-secondary education in HR or Business (CPHR an asset)
  • Successful candidates will be required to pass a criminal background check; drivers abstract and reference checks as a condition of employment

  • Background in retention planning, engagement, or onboarding (asset)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to review and validate all hiring requests before recruitment begins
  • Challenge unclear or unsupported hiring needs using data and workforce insights
  • Assess productivity gaps, workforce utilization, and business priorities
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle: sourcing, screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding handoff
  • Support hiring across salaried, hourly, skilled trades, and operational roles
  • Proactively source candidates using LinkedIn, referrals, networking, and direct outreach
  • Build and maintain strong pipelines for hard-to-fill roles across Canada
  • Hold hiring managers accountable for timely feedback, approvals, and decisions
  • Coach leaders on interview best practices and candidate selection
  • Track recruitment activity within HRIS/ATS systems (UKG or similar)
  • Build and maintain dashboards (time-to-fill, vacancy aging, source effectiveness, etc.)
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and quality of hire
  • Deliver a professional, responsive, and engaging candidate experience
  • Support job fairs, talent campaigns, and community partnerships (colleges, trade schools, associations)
