Talent Acquisition Specialist / HR Generalist
About The Position
Chandler Industries is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist / HR Generalist to help build its team and support employees and leaders at the Blaine and Wyoming divisions. This hands-on role combines full-cycle recruiting with a broad range of HR responsibilities. Recruiting and onboarding account for approximately 70% of the role. The position develops creative sourcing strategies, builds community relationships, and provides a positive experience for candidates and new employees, while also supporting employee relations, engagement, training, benefits, compliance, and other HR programs. The position is based at the Blaine facility, with at least one day per week at the Wyoming division and flexibility for occasional remote work. Chandler Industries is a contract manufacturer specializing in precision machining, EDM, sheet metal fabrication, and value-added services. It operates five divisions: Blaine, Long Prairie, Montevideo, and Wyoming in Minnesota, and Lake Mills in Wisconsin.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- At least 2–3 years of HR experience, including significant hands-on recruiting and talent acquisition responsibility.
- Experience with creative sourcing, direct outreach, interviewing, selection, and building talent pipelines.
- Ability to build relationships with candidates, employees, managers, and community partners.
- Experience using an HR information system and applicant tracking system, including maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Working knowledge of HR practices and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, and ability to support a broad range of HR activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, initiative, judgment, and discretion; ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to travel occasionally between company sites and to recruiting events and community partners.
Nice To Haves
- HR or recruiting experience in manufacturing, including recruiting machinists, operators, skilled trades, engineering, quality, or operations talent.
- Experience with Paylocity Recruiting, HRIS, reporting, or learning management tools.
- Experience using social media for recruiting and employer branding, or established relationships with schools and workforce organizations.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
Responsibilities
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positions, including hard-to-fill manufacturing roles.
- Source and engage active and passive candidates through job boards, social media, direct outreach, referrals, schools, community partners, and other channels.
- Build talent pipelines and relationships with technical schools, workforce organizations, veterans groups, and other recruiting partners; participate in career fairs and outreach events.
- Create job advertisements and recruiting communications, and support the company’s social media presence and employer brand.
- Manage candidate activity and records in Paylocity Recruiting, track recruiting metrics, and recommend improvements to sourcing and hiring processes.
- Guide hiring managers on interviewing and selection, and create a welcoming onboarding and orientation experience for new employees.
- Serve as a resource for employees and support managers with employee relations, performance management, engagement, and workplace concerns.
- Coordinate performance and talent reviews and support training assignments, records, and development activities in the learning management system.
- Assist with compensation, benefits, open enrollment, leave administration, workplace accommodations, safety initiatives, and accurate HR records.
- Partner with Corporate HR to administer policies and support compliance with applicable employment laws.
- Travel occasionally between company sites and to recruiting events and community partners.
