About The Position

At Flanigan’s, Takeout/Food Runners bring together warm, caring, friendly, outgoing people who find joy in serving others. The role supports guests and fellow employees by handling food and drink orders, takeout orders, curbside pickup, payments, and shift duties while following company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training.

The position requires standing and walking throughout the shift, frequent reaching, bending, and stooping, and the ability to deliver plates and clear tables, including lifting up to 50 pounds. Employees must be able to communicate in English, work flexible hours, and succeed in a fast-paced environment. The role also requires completing and passing Florida’s Responsible Vendor and food safety certification programs in compliance with company policies and Florida statutes.

Requirements

• Be able to stand and walk for 100% of the shift.
• Be able to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.
• Be able to deliver plates and clear tables of plates and glasses, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Be able to speak, read, and write English.
• Be able to read and write handwritten guest checks and notes.
• Complete and pass the Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
• Complete and pass the food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes.
• Be able to work flexible hours.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training.
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance and running food and drinks as needed.
• Know Food & Beverage menus, items, promotions, and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly.
• Accurately enter orders into the POS system.
• Retrieve food and drink orders from the kitchen or bar and deliver them to guests in a timely manner.
• Collect guest payments by credit card, cash, or gift card; process transactions accurately using the POS and deliver correct change promptly.
• Perform shift changes, opening and closing duties, and assigned sidework.
• Pack and verify all ToGo orders with the guest.
• Greet guests at the curbside pickup area.
