About The Position

Levi Strauss & Co. is hiring a Tailor for its Levi's Westfield Garden Plaza location in Paramus, New Jersey. Reporting to the Store Manager, the Tailor delivers a high-quality tailoring experience and product for consumers through customer service, sales, and Tailor Shop operations. The role supports the leadership team and reflects the company’s values of originality and integrity, empathy, courage, and performance.

The Tailor performs basic and technical alterations, assists consumers with concerns, educates store teams about Tailor Shop services, and may train other Tailors within the district or region. The role also involves recommending looks based on customer needs and current trends, promoting the Red Tab Loyalty program, and handling cash and Tailor Shop merchandise according to company policies. The position requires sewing and tailoring expertise, knowledge of denim and sewing machines, a flexible schedule, reliable transportation, and the ability to perform the described physical activities.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of sewing or tailoring experience.
• Strong knowledge of jeans construction.
• Thorough knowledge of machines used in sewing denim products.
• Understanding of textiles and fabrics, with demonstrated sewing, tailoring, and textile-repair skills.
• Thorough understanding of the denim industry and current and upcoming trends.
• Awareness of design and details, with strong internal and external communication skills.
• Fashion savvy and interest in current trends.
• Able to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds and regularly stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, reach overhead, and climb ladders, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Reliable transportation.
• At least 16 years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic alterations such as hemming, patching, repairs, and tapering, as well as more technical alterations requiring specialized equipment or detailed appearance-altering processes.
• Provide strong customer service and deliver an elevated consumer experience.
• Resolve tailoring-related consumer concerns in accordance with company policy and with consumer satisfaction in mind; partner with store management on escalated issues.
• Educate and train store teams on customer offerings and Tailor Shop services.
• May train Tailors within the district or region on Tailor processes and Levi’s Tailoring standards.
• Comply with Levi’s Stores policies, procedures, and programs, and follow store management directives.
• Suggest looks that reflect current trends and promotions and meet consumer needs, consistent with Levi’s service approach.
• Promote the Levi’s omni experience by engaging consumers with the Red Tab Loyalty program.
• Handle cash and Tailor Shop merchandise operations and procedures efficiently and in compliance with store policy.
