About The Position

GardaWorld is seeking compassionate and skilled Security Guards to join our Hospital team in Peterborough. As a first point of contact for patients, families and staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain transferrable skills for future careers in Law Enforcement, Corrections or for advancement within the security industry. Our hospital guards receive paid, sought after training and have the ability to move into senior roles directly on site. Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate motivation for wanting to work in a hospital setting, be able to practice exceptional customer service at all times and be physically able to move to and address emergent situations in a timely manner. Requirements

• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Hold a valid security license
• First aid certification required
• Ability to stand and walk throughout shift
• Ability to pass Use of Force and NVCI

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of people and property and keeping the peace
• Provide exceptional customer service to staff, patients and visitors
• Enforce safety procedures and standards
• Escort and assist patients/staff/visitors as needed
• Intervene during an emergency or crisis
• Operate video surveillance equipment
• Be able to work well in stressful and emotional settings
