About The Position

GardaWorld Security Services is hiring an armed Tactical Security Guard in Glen Allen, Virginia. The role requires military and law enforcement experience and involves monitoring and patrolling sensitive environments, assessing risk, controlling access, and responding to threats and incidents. Physical ability is essential, including standing and walking throughout the shift. The position has a full-time schedule of 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and pays $34.00 per hour. A uniform is provided at no cost.

Requirements

• Have at least three years of federal, state, or local law enforcement experience, or military police experience.
• Possess advanced skills and professional experience in people and conflict management, using tact, discretion, and de-escalation techniques.
• Be able to function in stressful situations while exercising good judgment.
• Demonstrate strong customer service and effective communication with the public, maintaining poise and self-control under stress.
• Possess, or be able to obtain, weapon training qualification certification for the weapon required at the assigned post.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Provide documentation of a high school diploma or GED.
• Pass an extensive screening process.
• Be able to stand and walk for the entire shift.
• Have a state license if required; licensing may be required before employment depending on state and local laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Prior tactical firearms experience.
• Prior advanced training in emergency medicine.
• First aid certification.
• Security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete a physical fitness assessment and shooting qualification.
• Patrol sensitive areas to identify suspicious activity.
• Verify identities and control access to secure areas.
• React quickly to threats or incidents.
• Check that alarms and cameras are functioning properly.
• Document incidents and actions taken.
• Respond to alarms and conduct on-site checks.
• Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents.
• Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property.
• Participate in industry-specific security and safety training programs.
