About The Position

Oaklawn’s Table Games Blackjack Dealer School introduces candidates to the fundamentals and skills needed to become a Blackjack Dealer. No previous dealing experience is required. The ongoing training opportunity accepts applications on a rolling basis; after applying, candidates are contacted by recruiting to discuss interviews, available classes, and next steps. Attendance at the school is on the candidate’s own time, and candidates are not Oaklawn Team Members during training. The school is free for candidates selected after completing the required interviews and test, but training is unpaid. The course lasts six weeks, with AM and PM class options held Monday through Thursday: 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. Successful completion requires meeting the attendance policy, maintaining a positive and upbeat attitude, and demonstrating strong communication, cash-handling, mathematical, and manual-dexterity skills.
