The Tabe/Testing Coordinator maintains a high degree of discipline within the testing area to ensure an appropriate testing environment. This role is accountable for cleanliness, including the organization of materials and equipment after testing periods. The coordinator participates in student performance evaluation panels, education meetings, and other student-staff functions. They conduct workshops to assist instructors with classroom remediation and meet with the Academic Training Manager and Academic Instructors to discuss new trends, techniques, and learning gain issues. A continuous TABE Testing schedule is set up and performed, including initial tests for all students and follow-up tests according to TABE policies. Recommendations for improvements in subject areas are made to supervisors. The coordinator also sets up and performs a continuous testing schedule for GED testing courses. A key responsibility is overseeing the accommodation process by reviewing Job Corps applicant files for potential health, mental health, physical, drug, alcohol, or education accommodations. This involves identifying the need for and reasonableness of accommodations, ensuring a thorough and appropriate process. The role includes assessing disabled students' CTT and recreational offerings and evaluating program effectiveness. Accommodation files are accurately maintained, and the effectiveness of accommodations is monitored, tracked, and followed up on. Alternative methods for test administration are provided, and special requests from departments are handled. New students receive information about the Disability program, and the student handbook is updated accordingly. Training for all staff on the Disability program is conducted at least annually. The coordinator motivates and counsels students on behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits, and assists disabled students with special problems. The role works towards meeting performance standard goals, adheres to property control policies, maintains good housekeeping, and complies with safety practices. Compliance with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures is mandatory. The position demonstrates and abides by The Bizzell Group’s core values and operating principles, follows the CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily, and models, mentors, and monitors appropriate Career Success Standards. The coordinator helps students become more employable through continuous reinforcement and participates in PRH-mandated staff training, with failure to do so potentially leading to disciplinary action. Other duties as assigned are also part of this role.
