About The Position

The TAB Technician tests, adjusts, and balances HVAC air and water (hydronic) systems to meet project specifications and industry standards. This is a hands-on, field-based role traveling to jobsites within the Blacksburg, Virginia area. The technician inspects systems for compliance with project plans and performance issues, interprets mechanical drawings and related technical documents, and documents work using project-specific reporting procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong math skills, including calculations related to air and water (hydronic) balancing.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, technical documents, and Statements of Work (SOWs).
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.

Nice To Haves

• NEBB or AABC certification is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Test, adjust, and balance air and water (hydronic) HVAC systems to meet design specifications.
• Inspect systems to verify compliance with project plans and identify performance issues.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, control schematics, and equipment data.
• Accurately document testing, adjusting, and balancing activities using project-specific reporting procedures.
