As the Systems Engineering Manager at Centrus Energy, you’ll lead the team responsible for maintaining the integrity, reliability, and performance of plant systems that support mission-critical operations. From safeguarding design bases to enabling continuous improvement, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the plant runs safely, efficiently, and effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical sciences, or equivalent technical experience
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience supporting plant operations, maintenance, or system engineering functions
  • Strong understanding of system design, configuration control, and engineering fundamentals
  • 4+ years of nuclear experience
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance.
  • Must be able to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.
  • Must be tested for the absence of any illegal drug prior to an offer of employment being made.
  • Will become part of a random drug testing program.
  • May be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Must pass a preemployment background check.
  • Must undergo a background investigation by the Federal government to receive a Q security clearance.
  • Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of systems engineers.
  • Provide technical oversight to ensure plant configurations remain aligned with design bases and safety requirements, including items relied on for safety (IROFS).
  • Partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Design, and Construction teams to support system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement modifications that improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Support startup and testing of new equipment.
  • Act on behalf of design authority.
  • Provide leadership with clear insights into system health, performance trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure cost-effective and compliant engineering solutions.
