About The Position

Sparton is seeking an Intern to support Systems Engineering in the design, development, testing, and documentation of maritime electronic systems, including sonobuoys, within various engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Acoustics. The internship aims to provide practical experience in requirement traceability tools, deriving and linking test cases, and test plans.

Requirements

  • Active pursuit of a Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and ability to provide documentation to confirm degree progress.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work on-site in De Leon Springs, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Support Systems Engineers in tasks including requirements management, test management, documentation, and reporting.
  • Prepare stakeholder/customer requirement documents for import into a requirements management tool.
  • Review requirement allocations, report gaps, and provide traceability to implementation requirements.
  • Facilitate test activities, document results, and create traceability reports.
  • Participate in review processes, including requirements reviews, peer reviews, and inspections of requirements documents.
  • Support the preparation of system engineering contract deliverable documentation.
  • Support Project Management and assist with tracking and status of Bill of Materials (BOMs) for prototype buildup.
  • Facilitate documenting and developing process training materials.
  • Participate in training and one-on-one sessions, receiving mentorship from project managers and engineers.
  • Other assignments may be added/adjusted as applicable.
