About The Position

ARCH - Memphis is looking for a Summer Intern that is interested in working in the Medical Manufacturing/Engineering environment. This is a temporary, short-term position. Assisting the engineering department with quoting, developing process flows, creation of inspection reports, and troubleshooting issues on the manufacture floor.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Currently enrolled as a 4-year engineering degree
Overall 3.0 GPA or above.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

Assist in developing manufacturing processes for quoting and contract review process.
Identifies and communicates to appropriate engineer any form, fit, and function anomalies found with designs during manufacturing.
Aids in the development of manufacturing models and prints for fixturing, electrodes, and process prints.
Aids in completing contract review folders.
Aids in MRB meetings and creating rework processes.
Oversees projects in assembly to gather an understanding of form, fit, and function while learning the importance of load bearing components and features.
Gain knowledge of welding, coatings, and capabilities of all CNC machinery.
Assist quality in inspecting parts utilizing micro-vu, CMM, and comparators.
Shadowing machinist to gain knowledge of how to operate a machine and read G-code.
Creation of routers and bubble prints for NPI and repeat jobs.
