About The Position

ARCH - Memphis is looking for a Summer Intern that is interested in working in the Medical Manufacturing/Engineering environment. This is a temporary, short-term position. Assisting the engineering department with quoting, developing process flows, creation of inspection reports, and troubleshooting issues on the manufacture floor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Currently enrolled as a 4-year engineering degree
  • Overall 3.0 GPA or above.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing manufacturing processes for quoting and contract review process.
  • Identifies and communicates to appropriate engineer any form, fit, and function anomalies found with designs during manufacturing.
  • Aids in the development of manufacturing models and prints for fixturing, electrodes, and process prints.
  • Aids in completing contract review folders.
  • Aids in MRB meetings and creating rework processes.
  • Oversees projects in assembly to gather an understanding of form, fit, and function while learning the importance of load bearing components and features.
  • Gain knowledge of welding, coatings, and capabilities of all CNC machinery.
  • Assist quality in inspecting parts utilizing micro-vu, CMM, and comparators.
  • Shadowing machinist to gain knowledge of how to operate a machine and read G-code.
  • Creation of routers and bubble prints for NPI and repeat jobs.
