Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer Intern to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting a range of systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of the product, from concept to deployment. Every day will bring new challenges, requiring you to collaborate across disciplines to troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, and implement solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the success of mission-critical defense systems, and you'll have a hands-on role in ensuring the entire system functions seamlessly.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
  • Experience in troubleshooting hardware errors and provide fixes
  • Experience with mechanical hardware documentation or drawing standards.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.​
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance​
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or interest in structural mechanics, material science, or mechanical systems design.
  • Familiarity with technical drawings or software such as CAD, solidworks, or similar tools
  • Experience with hands-on mechanical assembly, fabrication, or maintenance activities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability follow technical specifications and safety protocols

Responsibilities

  • Support hardware engineering team with maintenance, inspection, and documentation
  • Participate in hands-on troubleshooting and repair activities for mechanical components of hardware systems
  • Develop and update maintenance procedures and technical documentation for specialized equipment
