As a Systems Engineering Intern within the Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities: Space & Airborne Center, you will interface with a team of talented and experienced engineers in performing many core activities to include design, development or test at the system, subsystem, and component level. The selected candidates will apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to solve customer needs by providing customized engineering services and products for unique customer missions. You may also perform functional / physical analysis, allocation, and trade studies. This position is onsite role.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
  • Academic or internship experience that included hands-on testing of electronic equipment
  • Experience to troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, or as part of a hobby
  • Experience with data analysis using tools such as MATLAB and/or C++
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or coursework in Systems Engineering
  • Extracurricular involvement in school groups/clubs and/or the community
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
  • Basic understanding on how radar systems are developed and function
  • Understanding of radar modes and operation, such as air/air detection, air/ground detection, and ground mapping capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Support systems requirement development and analysis.
  • Support activities in our labs and document requirement verifications.
  • Complete and compile detailed performance evaluations, including the use of analysis tools, such as MATLAB
  • Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
