About The Position

This internship offers an opportunity to contribute to systems engineering activities, including defining, analyzing, documenting, and validating system-level requirements. The intern will assist with technical coordination, reviews, testing support, and follow-up on action items across teams. The role involves working with hardware, software, and validation stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. A key part of the internship will be supporting laboratory validation activities, which includes developing Python-based test scripts for automating measurements, controlling test equipment, and collecting test data. The intern will also assist with testing and characterization of UWB devices, antennas, and related wireless system components, and help prepare reports, specifications, and project records for visibility and traceability. The position emphasizes structured problem-solving, communication, and contributing to system quality.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals, problem solving, testing, and technical documentation.
  • Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical ideas clearly.
  • Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
  • In order to be considered for a summer internship with NXP you must be returning to school or graduating at the conclusion of the internship term. If you are graduating prior to July 2027 please apply to Entry Level full-time roles.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience from lab work, design projects, internships, coursework, or student competitions is a plus.
  • Familiar with role-related engineering, design, verification, programming, or lab tools; willingness to learn quickly is important.
  • Basic programming experience in Python and interest in test automation, data analysis, or instrument control is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to RF, wireless systems, antennas, or laboratory test equipment is a plus.
