Systems Analyst-Technical Staff

MIT Lincoln Laboratory•Lexington, MA

About The Position

The Tactical Autonomy Group develops and delivers AI-enabled autonomy and robotic systems for use at the tactical edge. It combines expertise in algorithms, controls, and machine learning with input from operational end-users, and designs, builds, integrates, field-tests, and transitions autonomy stacks into real operations. The Systems Analyst will conduct rigorous systems analysis of the capabilities and impacts of autonomous systems for the military and intelligence community. The role involves developing physics- and engineering-based models in programming languages and running scenarios with modeling and simulation software such as AFSIM, DIADS, and internal Lincoln Laboratory tools. The analyst must understand and connect technologies including autonomy algorithms, sensors, aircraft, communications, electronic warfare, and navigation, adapting to new problems and considering how the technologies work together. The position also calls for team leadership and collaboration, as well as developing and presenting technical materials to varied audiences. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, or a master’s degree in a relevant field with at least five years of relevant experience. Experience developing physics-based models using MATLAB, C++, Python, or similar languages is required. Direct experience developing autonomous systems is preferred. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level DoD security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
