About The Position

The Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) Office of Information Technology provides information technology support to over 13,000 employees. MaineIT oversees large-scale enterprise applications that support the critical and diverse business needs of the State of Maine and its agencies. MaineIT is seeking a qualified and skilled individual who is self-motivated to be a part of a highly technical team supporting MaineDOT and who will represent our C.A.R.E. values in all they do. This position is responsible for working with the customers of the Enterprise Data Services Applications team, such as our agency partners and other MaineIT team. Representative tasks include, but are not limited to: Analyzes business problems and operations in depth, considering the available tools and security requirements of MaineIT to capture and document functional requirements for a proposed system Prepares documents of understanding, at various technical levels and detailed specifications in order to identify system design requirements Participates in reviews and walk-throughs of functional requirements, system design, program specifications, coding, test plans and results, and documentation packages in order to minimize system problems and assure quality control. Performs special projects as assigned in order to respond to special needs or develop procedures and standards to control system development process.

Requirements

  • A four (4) year combination of higher level programming and or systems analysis and design experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes business problems and operations in depth, considering the available tools and security requirements of MaineIT to capture and document functional requirements for a proposed system
  • Prepares documents of understanding, at various technical levels and detailed specifications in order to identify system design requirements
