About The Position

Installs and maintains server hardware, storage systems, server-based operating systems, system support software, utility software, application software and other related hardware and software components. Provides primary support for all non-application software issues and primary support for certain application software issues. Administers system-level security functions. Provides administrative support to Office 365 Applications.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business or a computer related discipline.
  • If not possessing a four (4) year degree, should have a minimum of four (4) years business-related experience including two (2) years in information systems/technology.
  • Experienced candidates may be considered for the Systems Administrator II job level if they meet the following requirements: Three (3) years of IT experience, one (1) of which must be direct experience as a system administrator installing, monitoring, and maintaining servers, operating systems, security tools, hardware, and software tools in a medium to large scale organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, supports and documents server, storage and affiliated hardware and software configurations.
  • Troubleshoots server-based, non-application software problems. Works with application development personnel and vendors to assist in troubleshooting application software problems.
  • Assists in the maintenance of directory services and email directories.
  • Assists in the administrative support of Microsoft 365 Online applications
  • Maintains accurate records, documents and diagrams of the server and storage environment.
  • Makes recommendations for changes to improve service and/or contain cost.
  • Installs, maintains and supports server-based system software and certain non-system software while minimizing service impact.
  • Removes and properly disposes of defective or obsolete equipment in compliance with SECI procedures.
  • Installs, maintains and supports server and storage hardware while minimizing service impact.
  • Refers software failures to external vendor for resolution. Tracks resolution and keeps management informed.
  • Generally operates, maintains and supports the server, storage and affiliated hardware environment in a manner to provide a reliable, secure computing infrastructure.
  • Tracks and reports on the progress of all assigned tasks ensuring management’s awareness of project status.
  • Contributes to and conducts training programs.
  • In the absence of an incumbent Network Administrator, may be assigned to perform duties associated with that job function.
  • Performs other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned.
  • Performs NERC Compliance Program roles if/as designated in Seminole's Standard Ownership Matrix (SOM) including ongoing evidence retention in "audit-ready" form. You should also be familiar with Seminole's Enterprise Internal Compliance Program (ENT-GCD-RGC-EP-054) to further your understanding of Seminole's compliance program and your duties and responsibilities in the SOM.
