About The Position

ILW is seeking a detail‑oriented Systems Administrator with experience maintaining secure, reliable, and highly available Windows environments. This role requires proven expertise in Azure IaaS and Microsoft Entra ID to support a hybrid workforce, along with strong PowerShell skills to automate routine tasks. The Systems Administrator is responsible for managing identity, access, cloud infrastructure, and endpoint devices while leveraging proactive monitoring and automation to improve system performance, availability, and security.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator or similar infrastructure role
  • Strong expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access and MFA
  • Working knowledge of Azure infrastructure services (VMs, networking, storage)
  • Experience with Azure monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
  • Experience managing automated patching and system updates
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Intune for endpoint and device management
  • Intermediate PowerShell scripting skills for automation and administration
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft or Azure certifications related to administration, identity, or security
  • Experience with Hyper‑V and/or VMware virtualization platforms
  • Familiarity with Windows Autopilot and modern device provisioning
  • Experience supporting high‑availability or compliance‑focused environments
  • Knowledge of security best practices, Zero Trust concepts, and identity governance

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support hybrid identity environments using Microsoft Entra ID and on‑prem Active Directory
  • Manage user accounts, groups, and access controls using RBAC principles
  • Configure and maintain Conditional Access policies, MFA, and single sign‑on for SaaS applications
  • Monitor Entra Connect synchronization health and troubleshoot identity‑related issues
  • Provision, manage, and maintain Azure IaaS resources including virtual machines, VNets, and storage
  • Administer Azure Backup and Site Recovery to meet established RPO and RTO requirements
  • Monitor system performance using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics and resolve issues proactively
  • Identify and implement cloud cost optimization opportunities
  • Administer Windows Server 2019/2022 environments, including GPOs, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory maintenance
  • Manage patching and update cycles using WSUS or Azure Update Manager to ensure high compliance
  • Deploy and manage endpoints using Microsoft Intune, including configuration and compliance policies
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks and reporting
  • Document systems, procedures, and configuration changes
