About The Position

This role is a senior-level Applications/Systems Administrator position responsible for leading the administration, optimization, and lifecycle management of enterprise business applications. The position serves as the technical authority and subject matter expert for assigned business-critical systems, translating complex business needs into scalable technology solutions while ensuring stability, security, compliance, performance, and alignment with IT governance standards. Key responsibilities include Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure. The role also mentors junior technical staff, supports cross-functional initiatives across multiple business units, and requires advanced technical proficiency across application administration, and enterprise SaaS environments. Overall, the role combines deep technical expertise, operational ownership, governance, and leadership influence to improve reliability, reduce support costs, and drive modernization across the application portfolio.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field; or combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight (8) years.
• 10+ years of experience administering applications.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Expert proficiency in the administration of systems, software, and hardware in complex environments.
• Ability to analyze system bottlenecks, optimize database queries, tune application performance, data flow and integrations, and support capacity planning.
• System experience with JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet’s, AI tools, along with all Microsoft products.
• Proficient knowledge of ITSM Tools (Freshservice preferred), and application support best practices.
• Business Application SaaS experience is a plus.
• SharePoint Mastery: Experience in SharePoint Online, Power Automate (Flow), Power Apps, and SPFx.
• You should understand site architecture, permissions, and custom web parts.
• API & Integrations: Proficiency in testing and troubleshooting APIs using tools like Postman or Swagger.
• Familiarity with JSON, XML, and webhook configurations is essential.
• Database & Logic: Strong SQL skills for data querying and reporting.
• Ability to read/debug code (C#, PowerShell, or JavaScript) to identify where an integration is failing.
• Data Analytics: Ability to create basic PowerBi dashboards.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, both internal and external of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical authority for enterprise business applications, providing strategic oversight for application configuration, administration, optimization, enhancement planning, and operational support.
• Architect, implement, and maintain enterprise application solutions that align with business objectives, organizational standards, security requirements, and IT governance frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership on cross-functional initiatives by translating complex business requirements into scalable, reliable, and supportable technology solutions.
• Lead the installation, integration, upgrade, maintenance, and lifecycle management of assigned applications while ensuring system stability, scalability, and performance.
• Manage Incident, Problem, and Major Incident Management processes, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities for primary applications assigned.
• Oversee application release management, including planning, testing, deployment, change control, and post-implementation validation to ensure successful delivery with minimal impact to business operations.
• Design, implement, and support proactive monitoring, alerting, and performance management solutions to identify trends, prevent outages, and improve application reliability and availability.
• Enforce application governance, security controls, compliance requirements, operational standards, and best practices while continuously evaluating opportunities for optimization and modernization.
• Lead organizational change management efforts related to application implementations and enhancements, effectively communicating impacts and driving stakeholder adoption across all levels of the organization.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, knowledge articles, operational procedures, and support materials to ensure operational continuity and knowledge transfer.
• Mentor junior administrators and technical staff by providing technical guidance, coaching, and knowledge sharing include the improvement of both technical and professional skills in administration, to build organizational capability and strengthen support operations.
• Design and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BC) strategies for assigned applications, including recovery planning, backup validation, failover testing, resiliency assessments, and recovery readiness exercises.
• Maintain advanced expertise in emerging technologies, enterprise application ecosystems, integration platforms, cloud services, automation capabilities, and industry best practices to drive innovation and operational excellence.
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements that increase operational efficiency, improve user experience, and reduce support costs.
• Serve as the recognized subject matter expert (SME) for assigned business-critical applications, providing strategic consultation, technical leadership, and governance throughout the application lifecycle.
• Leads and is responsible for evaluating, designing, developing, modifying, adapting and/or implementing complex short- and long-term solutions to IT needs through new and existing systems, automation, software and hardware.
