About The Position

This position is for an Agile team member that provides operations and project support to a long-standing portfolio of projects in Newport News Virginia. Individuals understand their own area and are able to perform all facets of their role. They have experience in most issues that may arise, although require guidance with new assignments or assignments outside normal scope of work. They manage projects with oversight from their supervisor. Responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support. Defines specifications for operating systems applications and modifies/maintains existing applications. Designs, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructure including hardware, software, and various configurations. Designs and deploys systems based on business/user requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Windows system administration.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in VMware, or Horizon View.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with VMware ESXi, vSphere, or Horizon View.
  • CompTIA Security +, equivalent or higher
  • Must have a valid, industry-recognized certification relevant to their area of systems administration, such as Microsoft, Linux, or VMware.
  • Active DOD Secret (SSBI) T5 clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, upgrade, and support Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and enterprise workstations.
  • Deploy, configure, and optimize VMware ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter solutions.
  • Support VDI environments, manage virtual desktop configurations, and ensure seamless end-user experience.
  • Implement system hardening, patch management, and access controls per organizational standards.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support, diagnosing and resolving system/network issues efficiently.
  • Monitor system health, implement automation, and fine-tune configurations to improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, troubleshooting steps, and system changes.
