About The Position

This position is located in San Antonio, Texas, with the Defense Health Agency. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation may be available for those new to Federal service. Duties Administers and maintains servers, virtual machines, storage systems, and enterprise applications supporting Military Treatment Facilities. Performs server patching, configuration updates, system imaging, and ongoing maintenance. Monitors system performance, system logs, and alerts to identify and resolve backend issues. Prioritizes and escalates system issues based on mission impact and urgency. Enforces encryption standards, secure authentication practices, and proper system access protocols. Participates in planning meetings for system rollouts and infrastructure upgrades. Maintains accurate documentation of system configurations, baselines, and change history.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position is designated “Mission Essential”. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position is subject to business travel to various locations. This may require travel via privately owned vehicles, commercial transport platforms, and/or military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.
  • This position is designated as a code 4 - Supervisor with 10% supervisory functions.

  • One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining enterprise applications, developing system performance reports, and providing technical assistance to teammates.
