About The Position

WOW! is hiring a hands-on System Technician to maintain and support its HFC network in the field. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and optimizing network systems that serve residential and business customers. Technicians work outdoors and use tools and equipment to maintain network reliability, support expansions, and restore service during outages. The position offers paid training and opportunities for career growth and increased pay through certifications.

Requirements

• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, or repairing HFC networks is highly preferred.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers.
• Enjoy working outdoors and staying active.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable learning technical skills and using tools.
• Ability to explain things clearly to customers.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and an on-call rotation.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, climb ladders, work on poles and roofs, and enter tight spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
• Ability to lift up to 90 lbs. and handle tools and equipment.
• Ability to work near electrical equipment and power lines.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) networks.
• Test and optimize signal performance.
• Maintain network equipment, including nodes, fiber systems, and power supplies.
• Perform fiber splicing and activation.
• Respond to outages and support emergency restoration.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and system balancing.
• Identify signal leakage and ensure compliance.
• Support network expansion and serviceability.
• Provide excellent customer service while representing WOW!.
• Operate company vehicles safely.
