About The Position

Brooks Automation is hiring a Manufacturing System Technician based at its corporate headquarters in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. The role supports prototype and first-article builds in a changing new product introduction (NPI) environment, from kitting through testing. The technician assembles, configures, and tests systems, equipment, and components; reports test results and suspected design issues to engineering; and gathers build and test data to help identify trends, anomalies, and root causes. The role also maintains evolving build documentation with engineering approval, coordinates NPI tasks and materials against launch milestones, and helps implement corrective actions and process improvements for transfer into production. The position works closely with engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to resolve build blockers. It requires adaptability as designs and priorities change, along with the ability to work in laboratory and manufacturing settings and to use specialized equipment and tools safely. The listed base salary range is $22.84 to $30.90 per hour, and the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with design and manufacturing engineering teams.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to work from evolving or incomplete documentation and help improve procedures, processes, and policies.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities, designs, and project timelines.
  • Working knowledge of business practices and principles, including NPI phases and change control.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
