System Revenue Analyst- Managed Care

About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Director Payer Contracting and Analytics and Revenue Manager, the System Revenue Analyst supports the objectives of the Revenue Cycle, Finance, Administration, and Clinical Departments across Huntsville Hospital Health System facilities and providers. The role supports specific service lines and departments through data analysis, charge capture, process improvement, project management, reimbursement analysis, managed care support, KPI reporting, financial analysis, and staff education.

The analyst works with Revenue Cycle stakeholders, including Finance and Administration, to understand clinical and billing processes; identify and improve processes for capturing all charges and billing for services; educate and communicate with staff; audit and report outcomes; and use internal and external resources to implement and sustain improvements. The analyst is expected to independently lead projects and produce measurable, sustained outcomes. Using national best practices, the position proactively implements and supports the Health System’s revenue improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a comparable field; comparable combinations of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience working with patient accounting, case management, internal audit, coding, and/or process improvement.
• Knowledge of clinical and financial processes within a hospital-based healthcare system.
• Ability to bridge clinical and patient financial data to improve outcomes.
• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and healthcare billing guidelines.
• Knowledge of auditing, project management, and process improvement techniques.
• Ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, and to work within a networked IT system.

Responsibilities
