System Hardware Technician
About The Position
Tenstorrent is seeking a hands-on System Hardware Technician to support the servers, PCIe systems, and engineering infrastructure powering AI hardware development. The role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting prototype and production systems in fast-paced R&D and data center environments. The technician works across hardware engineering, software, IT, and site teams to keep platforms accessible and operational. This position is onsite in Toronto, Canada, or Austin, Texas. Candidates at various experience levels are welcome; the level and offer will be aligned based on the interview process.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex computing systems.
- Comfort working in fast-paced R&D environments where hardware, firmware, and software are continually evolving.
- Knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, and hardware diagnostics.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative and detail-oriented approach.
- Motivation to improve processes through documentation, scripting, and automation.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair servers, workstations, PCIe devices, and related hardware systems supporting engineering teams.
- Provide priority support to keep critical infrastructure available and operational.
- Maintain accurate asset tracking and documentation.
- Partner with hardware engineers, software developers, IT, and site teams to resolve complex technical issues.
- Safely perform hardware installations and maintenance in engineering labs and data center environments.
