System Engineer - Infrastructure Sustainment

About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to solve technical challenges and keep mission-critical infrastructure running securely and efficiently. The role involves collaborating directly with customer stakeholders and system integration teams to engineer, administer, optimize, and sustain a secure, closed-network environment spanning multiple locations across Capabilities and Operations. The engineer will work hands-on with Linux systems, automation, containerization, networking, and security technologies to improve system reliability, streamline operations, and strengthen infrastructure performance. This role offers technical ownership and the opportunity to address operational challenges supporting critical missions. Applicants must hold a Top Secret clearance and have favorably completed a polygraph. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Requirements

Proficiency with the Linux command-line interface, utilities, and system administration tools.
Experience administering, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Linux-based systems.
Experience developing Bash and Python automation scripts.
Working knowledge of the Agency's STE/STN security compliance requirements and established security policies.
Familiarity with Cisco networking technologies, including basic switch configuration and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with Docker, Podman, and containerd.
Experience creating and maintaining clear, accurate, and accessible technical documentation.
Top Secret clearance and favorable completion of a polygraph.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice To Haves

Experience administering, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows-based systems.
Familiarity with NetApp storage solutions, including storage administration and management.
Experience with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware vSphere and vCenter.
Experience using Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

Implement and maintain systems in accordance with established security policies and Agency STE/STN security compliance requirements.
Configure and troubleshoot Cisco network switches.
Develop, maintain, and update technical documentation, including system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Collaborate with customer stakeholders and system integration teams to support infrastructure operations.
