About The Position

This role involves maintaining and securing Linux systems, including patching, user management, system monitoring, and vulnerability remediation. The administrator will work with security assessments, automation tools, and documentation to ensure system integrity and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Experience with patching and updating Linux distributions regarding security findings.
• Experience with adding/removing users and setting permissions.
• Experience with system monitoring tools like NAGIOS.
• Experience working with STIGs and fixing/updating vulnerabilities with STE/STN findings.
• Experience renewing Linux server certificates and applying updates to TLS security versions.
• Experience working with ISSOs during SCA (security control assessment) testing.
• Experience working with automation software such as ANSIBLE.
• Experience updating documentation such as SOPs with problems and solutions for the team’s knowledge base on Confluence.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with VMWARE.

Responsibilities

• Patching and updating Linux distributions regarding security findings.
• Adding/Removing users and setting permissions to meet certain user privileges.
• System monitoring for health and status with monitoring tools like NAGIOS.
• Working with STIGs and fixing/updating vulnerabilities with STE/STN findings.
• Renewing Linux server certificates and applying updates to TLS security versions.
• Working with ISSOs during SCA (security control assessment) testing to go through over 400 SCTM (security controls traceability matrix).
• Working with automation software such as ANSIBLE to streamline updates and patching.
• Updating documentation such as SOPs with problems and solutions for the team’s knowledge base on Confluence.
