About The Position

The Switch Gear Draftsman is a specialized technical professional who creates detailed drawings, schematics, diagrams, and other related items for the Marine industry. This position works closely with engineers as they translate conceptual sketches into actionable production layouts, ensuring all designs comply with safety standards and regulatory rules.

Requirements

• A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required, with a focus on mathematics, physics, and computer science.
• Specialized training in marine-specific systems.
• 2-5 years of experience producing schematics, diagrams, and 2D/3D layouts using AutoCad inventor.
• Technical drafting and CAD proficiency
• Marine systems knowledge
• Marine engineering and design principles
• Collaboration and soft skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Nice To Haves

• Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or a technical diploma in Drafting, CAD Technology, or Marine Technology.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed drawings and schematics using AutoCAD or other relevant software.
• Collaborate with engineers to understand project requirements and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and codes in all drafted plans.
• Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation of project documentation and reports.
• Run the CNC machine, nameplate engraver, and create wire markers.
