About The Position

The Switchboard Operator receives external and internal calls into the switchboard and directs callers to the appropriate department or person. The role also monitors alarms, cameras, and emergency phones and manages them as appropriate. The operator serves as a resource contact and must be knowledgeable about many aspects of Medical Center operations.

This is a per diem role with varied shifts, 8-hour shift lengths, variable days off, and 12 hours per pay period. The compensation range is $21.04–$26.95 per hour, with the rate based on applicable experience.

Requirements

• Follow instructions and work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate clearly, quickly, and effectively.
• Have computer skills for support functions, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Have organizational and multitasking skills.
• Be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in a hospital PBX setting and/or answering service using a multiline phone system.
