About The Position

The Switchboard Operator is responsible for communicating and routing calls, making overhead pages, monitoring building-system infrastructure alarm panels, notifying on-call teams, managing associated records and data collection, and processing STAT calls through the switchboard. The role also maintains call schedules and daily call logs. Operator II staff assist with training new staff as requested.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer, screen, and relay calls.
• Process notifications of STAT code requests.
• Monitor alarm systems, including 911 calls, the emergency management radio system, fire alarm panels, emergency generator and medical gases panels, paging system, panic alarms, and infant security alarms.
• Process requests for first responder notifications.
• Complete and maintain daily call logs.
• For Operator II, assist with training new staff as requested.
• Maintain call schedules for Facilities Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Surgery - OR, PACU, Perfusion, First Assist – CVOR, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray, IR RN, IR Techs, Nuclear Medicine, Anesthesia, CRNA, Spiritual, Cath Lab, Endoscopy, Physical Therapy, Sterile Processing, Dialysis, and Physician schedules (PS).
