About The Position
We are seeking a skilled Swiss Screw Machinist to join our team for a part-time weekend shift. This role is crucial for our Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience operating Swiss Screw Machines and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety protocols. This is a part-time position working Saturdays and Sundays from 6 am to 3 pm.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required
- Relevant experience in CNC Swiss Screw machining is required
- Ability to use computer software, company ERP system, and clock in/out of jobs
- 2 – 5 years of experience running Swiss Screw machines (Fanuc controls preferred)
- Knowledge of off sets and program reading is a plus
- Familiarity with tight tolerances and finishes
- Good understanding of GD&T and industry standards of inspection
- Must be able to stand for the majority of the work shift
- Sufficient verbal and written communication skills
- Good problem-solving skills
Nice To Haves
- Fanuc controls experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Operate Swiss Screw Machines
- Perform daily machine maintenance, including checking fluid levels and cleaning chips
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Read and understand blueprints, including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, abbreviations, GD&T, and other standard nomenclature
- Use basic inspection, measuring, and test equipment to verify machined dimensions
- Record inspection data at prescribed intervals
- Fill out MOT and job routers
- Maintain correct part counts on the MOT for operations performed
- Tag hardware and record discrepancies on proper paperwork
- Communicate job-related issues and questions to lead personnel
- Report all machine collisions and malfunctions to lead personnel
- Adhere to all company and industry safety standards and protocols
- Understand industry buy-off requirements, handling & FOD requirements, product identification requirements, and company paperwork procedures
