About The Position

As a Swiss Machinist at Lakeland Manufacturing, you will be responsible for setting up and operating Swiss-style CNC machines to produce high-quality precision components. This role involves working with advanced CNC equipment, reading blueprints, performing machine setups and adjustments, inspecting parts, and troubleshooting machining issues. You will also perform routine maintenance and collaborate with various teams to ensure production efficiency and quality. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
  • 2+ years of Swiss CNC machining experience.
  • Experience setting up and operating Swiss-style CNC machines (Star, Citizen, or similar).
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of G-Code and M-Code.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work safely around moving machinery and production equipment.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Swiss-style CNC machines, including tooling, offsets, and program loading.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
  • Perform machine setups, program adjustments, and optimize cycle times while maintaining tight tolerances.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust tooling and machine parameters as needed.
  • Perform deburring, routine machine maintenance, and maintain a clean work area.
  • Document production and inspection data.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
