The primary purpose of the Swiss Machinist is to set up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment to manufacture precision parts. This role requires adherence to company values, safety, environmental, security, and quality requirements. The machinist will operate and set up CNC shop equipment with minimal assistance, meet cycle time and yield expectations, and may operate more than one machine simultaneously. Responsibilities include sharpening and changing tooling, making offset adjustments, presetting tooling, maintaining tooling, troubleshooting equipment, deburring/buffing/sanding parts, verifying documentation, and inspecting parts for conformance to specifications. The role also involves practicing lean manufacturing principles, performing preventative maintenance, expanding skills through training, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
