About The Position

Apple’s Radar Engineering team is seeking an early-career Swift Engineer to help build the native Radar apps used by Apple teams on macOS and iOS. Radar is Apple’s primary tool for defining, tracking, and testing issues, supporting bug tracking, test case management, product management, and coordination across hardware and software engineering teams. The apps are frontend clients for a high-traffic, business-critical platform used throughout Apple. The Swift Engineer will join the Radar Client team, distributed across California, Texas, and Ireland. Working collaboratively with engineers and designers, the role involves delivering end-to-end features that support Apple’s engineering workflows. The team provides structured mentorship, training in Apple’s development practices, and support for building skills and taking on increasing feature ownership. The engineer will write, test, and ship Swift code across Radar’s macOS and iOS apps; build features and fix bugs; and help keep a large, long-lived codebase fast and reliable as it evolves. The role also includes contributing to design discussions, documentation, engineering best practices, and the adoption of frameworks and technologies.

Requirements

  • Solid programming skills in Swift or a similar language, with a good grasp of protocol-oriented and object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience with SwiftUI, AppKit, or UIKit.
  • Familiarity with building apps for Apple platforms using Xcode.
  • Experience with version control (Git) and a working understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience consuming REST APIs from a client app.
  • Experience with unit and UI testing frameworks such as XCTest.
  • Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest or experience in agentic workflows, MCP integrations, or AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and test features and bug fixes for Radar’s native apps in Swift.
  • Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
  • Work with senior engineers and designers to break down features into well-scoped tasks and deliver them on schedule.
  • Investigate and resolve issues reported by users, working with QE and the Radar Platform team.
  • Contribute to technical design discussions and documentation.
  • Follow and help improve the team’s engineering best practices.
  • Take on increasing ownership of features as skills and experience develop.
