Leidos•Huntsville, AL

About The Position

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a Radar Engineer to support advanced technology radar programs and solve complex sensor- and radar-oriented problems. The role involves developing radar signal processors and tracking algorithms, working with advanced sensors in electronic warfare environments, simulating radar systems, field-testing RF sensors and systems, and deploying advanced sensor systems. The engineer will collaborate with other engineers to evaluate existing algorithms for performance and processing-latency improvements and investigate algorithms from published literature for potential use in radar programs. The position is based in the Huntsville–North Alabama area, and the successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen who holds and maintains a Final Secret Clearance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, from an ABET-accredited school, with 2–4 years of prior relevant experience; alternatively, a master's degree with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in radar algorithm development and/or radar analysis.
  • Experience or willingness to lead a team of engineers in solving difficult radar algorithm problems, peer-reviewing algorithms, overseeing tasking, and performing other team-lead activities.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Fundamental skills in digital signal processing, tracker algorithms, MATLAB, and radar simulation and modeling.
  • Must reside in the North Alabama area or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville–North Alabama area.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess and maintain a Final Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves
