About The Position

Zoox is developing a fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem for mobility-as-a-service in urban environments. The Senior Radar Engineer will join the Advanced Hardware Engineering team and focus on translating stakeholder needs into measurable radar requirements and test plans. The role includes defining and documenting radar requirements and defining and conducting radar testing to inform radar selection and future roadmaps.

Requirements

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Signal Processing.
• At least 5 years of experience in radar development and testing.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, Git/GitHub, and AI tools.
• Understanding of the working principles of a typical automotive radar system, such as FMCW.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting radar problems that intersect hardware and software.
• Experience integrating radar systems and concepts into machine-learning-based autonomy software.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in numerical, electromagnetic, or system simulation of radar performance and integration.
• Experience with systems engineering workflows and requirements development.
