About The Position

The Radar Engineering team at Apple is seeking an early-career DevOps Engineer to help build and run the pipelines and infrastructure that ship Radar, Apple’s platform for product development, bug tracking, and work management. Radar is a high-traffic, business-critical system used by teams across Apple, and reliable, fast releases help it keep pace with the company. The role is part of a growing team distributed across California, Texas, and Ireland. The engineer will work closely with teammates to deliver features for Apple’s engineering workflows and will receive structured mentorship, training in Apple’s development practices, and support to develop their skills. The position involves building, maintaining, and automating CI/CD pipelines, environments, and infrastructure across a complex microservices ecosystem. As experience grows, the engineer will take increasing ownership of pipelines and environments, contribute to design discussions, and help introduce tooling and technologies to the platform.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming or scripting language: Python, Bash, Go, or Java.
  • Fundamental understanding of Git workflows, version control best practices, and core CI/CD principles.
  • Solid foundation in Linux/Unix system administration, networking fundamentals, and operating system basics.
  • Hands-on experience or project work with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.
  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Clear, structured technical communication and analytical troubleshooting skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation, or with cloud environments such as AWS.
  • Curiosity about or hands-on experimentation with agentic workflows, LLM developer tools, or MCP integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, automate, and streamline build, test, and release workflows across a containerized microservices ecosystem.
  • Automate environment provisioning, configuration management, and system resilience across hybrid cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, and QE to build automated quality gates and reduce deployment lead time.
  • Triage build and deployment issues, conduct blameless root cause analyses, and implement proactive monitors to prevent regressions.
  • Explore and integrate developer tooling, including AI-assisted automation, MCP integrations, and developer-productivity tooling.
  • Take increasing ownership of pipelines and environments, contribute to design discussions, and help bring new tooling and technologies onto the platform.
